CPCCWHS1001 - Work Safely in the
Construction Industry (White Card)

OVERVIEW

The unit CPCCWHS1001 Work safely in the construction industry is designed to meet WHS regulatory authority requirements for WHS induction and must be achieved before access to any building and construction work site. The target group will be people requiring training to safely work on construction sites.

Delivery Strategy

This course involves a 1-day class with our highly experienced training team. It will include presentations, group work and practical activities.

During this course you will cover many areas such as, but not limited to, the following:

1. Relevant Legislation and Industry Regulations
2. Construction Hazards and Control Measures
3. OHS Communication, Information and Reporting Methods
4. OHS Incident Response Procedures

Who can enrol?

  • new entrants in the construction workforce
  • workers, supervisors and managers working in construction, but do not have the White card
  • individuals, who will undertake housing or construction work in the near future

Proof of Identity

A photographic identification (copy must be clear) such as a current and valid Australian driver’s license or passport must be provided.
If you cannot provide photographic identification, then you must provide certified copies of at least three other forms of identification (Medicare card, student I.D, bank statements, utility bills)

Assessment

Written assessment and oral questioning.

Once your training has been completed, your details are uploaded to WorkSafe Victoria, where they will issue you a Construction Induction card.

Once you have received your white card, it will remain valid while you continue to work in construction. However, if you do not work in this field for a period of two consecutive years, you will need to renew your white card by undertaking training again.
