OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

Course Detail

Total number of units = 12 
4 core units 
plus
8 elective units, of which: 
  • 4 elective units must be selected from Group A
  • up to 4 may be additional units from Group A or Group B
  • if not listed below, up to 2 electives may be from Diploma or above in the Business Services Training Package
  • if not listed below, 1 elective unit may be from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course at Diploma level.
Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Units of Competency to complete qualification
Upon successful complete of the following 12 units of competency, we will issue with the qualification Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB51918).

Delivery Strategy

​Students can complete this course online or attend Classroom based Training.
 Online Delivery
Upon enrolment, all students will receive a username and password enabling them to logon to the online learning management system and access course instructions, training and assessment material. Students are expected to undertake significant self-directed study in addition to the workshops.

​Workshop Delivery
Face-to-face classrooms workshops are available to online students at either public venues or client’s premises.

Duration

The course is expected to be completed in a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months.   1 x weekly session of 8 hours per day.
If credits apply the students will be exempt from participating in the unit’s which will impact the duration of the course.

Mode of Delivery

The program of individual units will be delivered and assessed through a range of teaching & learning strategies and assessment methodology. These include but are not limited to:

Entry into this course

  • Student must be 18 years of age or turning 18 years of age prior to the initial course commencement.
  • Those undertaking this program must have completed Year 10 or Equivalent qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.
  • Have intermediate computer skills with Word and Excel
  • Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Evaluation

Assessment

Baker Ebert Pty Ltd ensures that the training delivered is to the standards of a real workplace environment. To meet this requirement Baker Ebert Pty Ltd has implemented a variety of assessment tools that will be utilised during the course of the qualification. These assessment tools assess various elements of an actual workplace in a simulated training environment.
 
The assessment tools allow the learner to choose the evidence that they provide to the assessor. Baker Ebert Pty Ltd assessment tools that provide evidence include:

  • Skills assessment/CT
  • RPL Considerations
  • Class based activities
  • Written or Oral questions
  • Assignments and or presentations
  • Supervisor Observations

 
Baker Ebert Pty Ltd will ensure learners have every reasonable opportunity to complete their training program. The RTO will integrate the activities and units that reflect real industry outcomes and processes. The students are required to submit all written assessments by the prescribed due date. 

Award

To be eligible for the award of the BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management learners must successfully complete a total of 12 units 4 core units 8 electives.
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised qualification will be awarded a certificate for:

  • BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management

A Statement of Attainment will be issued for any unit of competency deemed competent if the full qualification is not completed. Awards will be generated after successful completion of this course and full payment has been received.

Award

Credit Transfer
If a certificate or statement of results is produced and verified, a credit transfer process will be initiated by Baker Ebert Pty Ltd in relation to the units as per the training plan.
Credit transfer is a process that provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched or equivalent units of competency.”  (Source: AQF)
